Intro

Brynn Marie Ervin is the devoted wife to Kyle; mother to four beauiful children - Grace, Isaiah, Noah and Anthony; Daughter to Alan and Holly, Ken and Linda; Sister to Katie, Andy and Alisa; and a friend to all!

After several weeks of bed rest at home, Brynn was checked into the hospital in order to delay the premature birth of young Anthony to a date where his lungs would be fully developed.

On December 1, 2009 at 2:37 PM, Anthony Alan Ervin was brought into this world via c-section, weighing in at only 2 pounds 11 ounces and 15.5 inches long.

Unfortunately, 24 hours after the delivery of baby Anthony, a blood clot released from Brynn's legs and stopped to block the pulmonary artery in her heart for several minutes, causing her to have a seizure. Brynn immediately underwent successful emergency open heart surgery to clear the clot. However, Brynn was without oxygen to her brain for 45 minutes or more.

The reality is that this family will have a long road ahead of them to recovery. Please keep Brynn and her family in your prayers during this time of need.

If you would like to help, there is a link below for donations.

Thank you and God bless for your thoughts and prayers!

Kyle’s updates from Facebook 1/4/10 (Monday) @ 8:38 am

Hello all - I'd like to make a small request. I am hoping I can get some of you to send a message to Brynn. You can tell her whatever you like and the two of us will read them together. I'll be working on her reading comprehension but I'd also like her to know how many lives she's touched through this ordeal. Just send me a message with whatever you'd like her to know. Much love-Kyle

  1. Brynn & Kyle,

Thank-you for allowing me to witness a miracle, and the power of prayer. Cancer has taken a dear friend of ours, but not our faith, that she rest now and knows no pain. May your days bring more blessings, and the beauty, this life has to offer. peace-hope-love always.

  2. Brynn,

You do not know me. I am an acquaintance of your father, Alan. Our recent discussions somehow led to personal ones as he shared your story with me.

As a husband and father of two myself, I could not help feel for you and your family.

I knew your father was faithful as he keeps a picture of Pope Benedict on his wall so I asked your name and promised to keep you in my prayers and that of my family. We keep appraised of you status through the website and your progress is a reminder to us of the great power of prayer.

I am confident you will be back on your feet again soon.

God bless and best wishes to your family.

  4. Hi Brynn,
You have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly. When I read your blog I have happiness in my heart (for all you have overcome), and tears in my eyes (cuz I'm a sappy whimp). You are an incredible fighter, and your strength overwhelms me. I know you will come through this 100 %, so that we can all see your wonderful and contagious smile again. I will continue my prayers, because you are proof that they work. Love you, Sue Epperly

  7. Dear Brynn,
You do not know me...I am Hope McGill's Mom. Hope and Kyle went to high school together in San Jose. Hope told me early on what was happening in your life, actually before the baby was born. She has kept me posted and I know read your blog daily.
We had prayers going all over San Jose for you and your wee one and your whole family.
I distinctly remember reading Kyle's note where he shared his response to the Doctor's, "I beleive in miracles, I need you to believe to". That just stuck in my heart and mind.
God is the great Healer and he does hear prayers. You are proof of that! I shared your story and progress at the New Year's Eve Watch Service at my church---everyone was amazed at your progress and said to thank you for sharing your story and your miracle.
We continue to pray for you and your family--we love reading about how you are doing every day.

  8. Dear Brynn and Family--I heard about your story from a friend that works for Vironex in the Bay Area, and I must say that you have touched my life in such a huge way. I teach in a Catholic school and the whole school has been praying for you everyday; I share the updates with my class and we are all amazed and excited about your progress. It is such a testament to the power of prayer and what a wonderful opportunity for the students to witness this. Even though we don't know each other personally and will probably never meet, I must say that I feel the love of your family and feel a closeness through the words and inspiration of your daily updates. We will continue to keep you in our prayers, and I wish you peace through your continued progress. Thank you for sharing your story...it is certainly one worth sharing. Take care, Jannette Wilkinson

  12. Dear Brynn, I am a friend of the Dowells and we have met several times in years past. Pat told us about your journey here and we have been thrilled to see the progress you are making. Every day you are getting stronger and stronger and closer to the day that you can be home with your beautiful family. We in San Gabriel are pulling for you and praying for you also. You are part of a strong family and you are proving to be the strongest one of all! Your story has touched us so much. It has brought me to tears and it has brought me incredible hope and joy for the progress you are making. I said a special prayer for you at St. Therese Church on Christmas eve, as the children were coming in for the nativity presentation.

I thought of you when I saw the quote: "Don't tell your God how big your mountains are, tell your mountains how big your God is."

We are holding you in our hearts and in our prayers,

    Love, Susan San Filippo,
    mom to Mark and Lisa,

  13. Dear Brynn,
You don't know me...I went all through grade school with Karin Holderness Beach and read her request for prayers for you on Facebook. As a mother and a C-section patient I felt an immediate connection with you. I began inquiring about your progress and then following your blog. Thank you so much for sharing story and giving us the opportunity to help. As I told Karin - the human body, a determined mother and loving prayer are amazingly powerful things! I hold you close in my prayers and have no doubt that some day soon you'll be too busy chasing after kids to even update this blog!...then you'll need prayers of a whole different sort ;)
Until then, please take good care.

    Love, Joslyn Inderbitzen

...I don't know who said that but I think it's hilarious!
